During my 2024 residency at the Banff Centre, I turned a hut into a self-generative sound installation. Two recording systems continuously processed live sound from the space, feeding back into the room and to each other. I interacted with this cyclical processing using drums, grand piano, bass, and modular synthesis. I would create sounds, listen as they were transformed, and respond when it felt right.

The sounds were captured with binaural microphones in my ears and room mics, sometimes shaped further by placing objects near the speakers or on amps. Some recordings were spatialized in a quadraphonic setup within the space, further imprinting the room's acoustics into the sound.

This page shares fragments of that process. The full residency experience can be viewed here.
